  1. Hello, Marvie!

I have heard many great feedbacks regarding the Pinterest Verify Meta Tag Plugin that you have developed. I’m having a problem with it though. I still haven’t been able to verify my friend’s pinterest account despite the plugin’s help. The wordpress.org site theme that we are using is called “neptune” and I checked on the header.php template that it does not have the code in it, it has instead. I think that’s the problem.

Would be so kind in helping me out in this endeavor?

    Thank You so much!

    • Hi Kiar… What is the site URL of your friend, so I can check? Also you can check if your friend is using the right content part of the meta tag verification code. Pinterest has mixed things up, they have swapped the file verification code for the meta tag, and the meta tag verification for the file upload. Hope this helps.

  2. I have disabled WP Cache, added the Pinterest Meta code and tried over and over for the past 3 days to verify my website from Pinterest. I tried so many times the past 2 days that Pinterest locked me out from verifying. I simply cannot verify and need help is either using your plugin or forgetting it and trying another way.

    Frustrated.

    • Hi Mike, it seems that you’ve deactivated or uninstall the plugin, I can’t see any output from the plugin in the source. I won’t be able to check it if its not installed. And you might want to check my reply to the first commenter of this post.

  3. Help! I’ve loaded your plugin…copied Pinterest meta tag but nothing…no verification. Can you assist? Greatly appreciated.

    • Hi Dana, you need to disable the cache plugin once or clear your cache before verifying the website.

  4. Thanks for the quick response…but I’m a genuine wordpress loser…have no idea how to do that…if you feel so inclined…maybe you can walk me through?

    Fingers crossed…

    • You are using Super Cache. In your dashboard navigate to Settings -> WP Super Cache. Then in the ‘easy’ tab, click the delete cache button.

  5. I copied the metatag, I think, correctly and the pinterest site continues to say verifying. But it never stops saying verifying. – it never finishes. My website URL is http://www.agiftofservice.com
    Thank you in advance!!

    • Everything seems to be fine in your site. Sometimes this happens. I think this is an issue with Pinterest. I recommend trying again in a few hours.

  6. Just loaded it on a client site. Totally worked in 10 seconds. Now I am going to do it for the rest of our client’s we do social media for! I didn’t even have to call our web department. Dead simple.

PS I bought you a cup of coffee!

    Thanks!

  7. Hi, I have no idea what I am doing wrong but it just does not work. I installed your plugin copied the meta in to the plugin, saved changes. But pinterest keeps on insisting: We couldn’t find the meta tag. We checked at http://www.maryattawegerif.com
Not only have I got a german version but everything seems to look diofferent. Can you help me, please?

    • Hi maryatta …it seems that you’ve deactivated or uninstall the plugin, I can’t see any output from the plugin in the source. I won’t be able to check it if its not installed.

  8. thanks for your quick reply. now I am completly confused. It is there and I activated it again. I first installed it, then acticvated it, and then put the code in. WHAT did I do wrong? Seems I need professionel help seeing I am not really able to cope. What a pity….! But I think I like your plugin and when it works I will get a beer to you!

    • It seems that your custom theme is missing the common hooks that allow plugins to output their code. Be sure your theme is not missing wp_head() WordPress hook. Or try switching to the default twenty twelve theme.

  9. Hi, I installed your plugin and copied the meta in to the plugin and saved changes. But pinterest keeps on insisting: We couldn’t find the meta tag. My website URL is http://www.gdaysouffle.com. Thank you for your help.

    • Hi Fran,

You have added/included full content of meta tag in plugin settings.

You need to ONLY add/copy the content number/letter code you got from Pinterest -> 64bd6907207958b21a3a4501b84de1b8

  10. Thank you Marvie, but I’m still having a problem. I entered just the content number as you advised. However, when I try to verify on the Pinterest website, a message comes up saying, “Your server responded with a status code on None. We tried to visit your website http://www.gdaysouffle.com.” Please help.

    • Hi Fran,

Please verify your site at pinterest as meta tag method, you are currently verifying using file upload method.

  11. Marvie, I’ve now verified using the meta tag method- the proper code has been entered into the section of my site. I then pressed the Verify button (#2) on Pinterest to complete the process and after 30 minutes the Verify button is still ticking away- nothing has happened and the verify process has not completed. Any suggestions? Do I need to delete a cache or something (whatever that means!) Thank you.

    • You only need to delete cache if your site is using any cache plugins. Perhaps Pinterest may have cached your site without the meta tag, not sure though, as I don’t know how Pinterest operates. I recommend trying again in a few hours.

  12. Marvie, I thought I’d try one more time to solve my problem verifying with Pinterest. I still can’t verify either through the Meta tag or HTML methods- still getting the message of “your server responded with a status code of None.”. Do you have any more suggestions or should I just ‘rest easy’? Thanks http://www.gdaysouffle.com

  13. 1. Add this meta tag to the of your index.html file (or equivalent):

    2. We were unable to verify your website. Click here to try again or visit support.
We couldn’t find the meta tag. We checked at http://mindbodybuddy.com
That says it pretty well, tried multiple times to verify. Checked and plugin is active. Help if you can. Thanks!

    • Hi Debbie, I viewed your html source code and you are using other pinterest verify plugin (not this one).

  14. Hi,
My website is www.365thingsaustin.com and I cannot get it to verify? I used the metatag that Pinterest gave me but I cannot seem to figure it out.
    Thank you so much,
    Kristy

  15. Hi,
I am trying to verify a friend’s website – www.lizlidgett.com and I can’t seem to get the verification to work. I have been uploading the meta tag but Pinterest won’t seem to verify. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    • Hi Chelsea …you have added full meta tag in plugin settings. You need to only add the content part -> 283df847fb5c9782302355207a1def13

  16. Hi, thanks for the awesome plugin! I’m just having a hard time getting verified. Hoping you can help! I’ve disabled my cache.

    I’m http://beautyjunkiesunite.com.

    Many thanks!

  17. I’m not sure why I’m having a problem. I uploaded and activated the plugin but when I go to save the meta tag, the screen says “settings saved” but no changes take place, the pinterest doesnt recognize as verified, and the message “This meta tag has been added…” never comes up. Any thoughts?

    • Hi Aisha…did you put the content part of the meta tag from pinterest into the text area field? The message “This meta tag has been added…” will not appear if the text area field is empty.

    • Hi jude, please verify your site at pinterest as meta tag method, you are currently verifying using file upload method.

  18. Hi again! I used the meta tag method this time. I copied the meta tag code and pasted it on the box where it says “Copy the content part only of the meta tag from Pinterest Verification page and enter it here.” Then I saved the changes. When I verified on pinterest I keep getting the same error message :-(

    • Hi jude, I can’t see any output from plugin in the html source of your site. Are you using any cache plugin? if so, please clear cache before verifying on pinterest.

  19. I just loaded your plug-in and it’s not working for me. I believe I’ve entered the correct meta, and saved, but when I go back to pinterest and hit the Complete Verification button I get “Trouble verifying your domain. Please try again later”

  20. Hi, Marvie,

I am still getting the “Oops. Something went wrong…” message from Pinterest when I click “complete verification.” I emptied my caches but no luck. Any ideas?

    My URL is www.umano.com.

    Thank you!

  21. Hi I installed the plug in and copied the meta tag info from pinterest hit save and it saved and when back to pinterest to verify and it is not working. Can you help please

  22. I have downloaded your plug-in and activated it, but when I go back to Pinterest to try and verify, I get a message that says “Whoops, having trouble verifying your website” Any thoughts?

  23. I am getting the same errors as everyone else.
Downloaded the plug in and activated it. Go back to Pinterest and get the “Whoops” message. Can you help.
    Thanks so much.

  24. Hi marvie
im not sure where I should be adding the netag tag that pinterest gave me. Do I just put it at the very top of the index.php above the rest of the existing wording.
I’m new to all of this and afraid of putting it in the wrong place and screwing up my website.
Ive installed your plug in by the way..
    Thanks
    elaine

  25. I am also having a problem getting verified by Pinterest. I cleared my cache and used just the content portion. Please check my site shamanrai.com and advise me. Thank you.

  26. Hi Marvie,
Thank you so much. I have been struggling with this for days on end but finally worked like a charm. If you don’t mind, for the sake of other daftees (lol! is that even a word?) like myself, instead of saying in the instructions that “copy the content part only”, may be you can use the response you gave above to one of the users :”ONLY add/copy the content number/letter code you got from Pinterest e.g.64bd6907207958b21a3a4501b84de1b8″

After reading that, I got it right away. Thanks a lot.

    Thanks

  28. I’m also having trouble verifying the site. I’ve activated the plug in, added the content portion only, but when when I go back to pinterest the verification won’t go through. Can you take a look?

  29. Hi There-
The plugin isn’t working. I cleared cache, I disable the cache plugin, I filled in the content of the meta tag. Still doesn’t work. What is happening?
    Thanks
