Pinterest Now Open to the Public

Pinterest is now open to the public, finally removing the Registration Invitation.

The website announced today that users no longer need an invitation to sign up, and anyone is free to join. Anyone can now sign up directly to Pinterest by using your Facebook or Twitter account, or just your email address.

For around 2 years users had to click “Request an Invite” on Pinterest.com, which was usually approved within 2 business days or so.

The social network said today in a blog post:

We’re really excited to have the capacity to offer Pinterest to more people and if you’re a Pinner with friends who’ve been waiting on the sidelines, we hope you’ll let them know. Happy pinning to everyone!

Pinterest is the third most popular social network, behind Facebook and YouTube and the fastest-growing website in the history of the internet.
